Thanksgiving Vacay Day 2





What a refreshing day! Day 1- We drove 9 hours, arrived at the Jelley’s house in Brevard, NC, & spent a nice evening with them. 

Today, November 20, was a fun day outside in nature! We hiked a steep mountain called John’s Rock with Richard Jelley & got an amazing view of God’s creation. We also visited a nearby waterfall, but, sadly, it was too cold to swim. We ended the day with church and more great conversation! Thank you, Jesus, for such a glorious day!
Today’s Psalm- 
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. 
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. 
May the LORD answer all your prayers.
Lord, would you give me a heart after your heart? So much so that all of my heart’s desires are also Your desires. When my desires are out of alignment with Yours, Holy Spirit, would you check me? Remind me to press into you so that I can hear your heart!

Lent 2020

As the Lenten season approached, I knew I had to face off with what we were going to give up this year as a family. Let me preface this post with this: I have thoroughly been enjoying movies each night as I nursed Levi. It was something I looked forward to & I was getting to the place where I couldn’t imagine life in the nursing a newborn season without those movies.  One night, as I sat on the bed nursing the baby, I told the Lord that I really didn’t want to give up T.V., video games, or movies this year. I enjoyed playing Candy crush & watching movies to take my mind off of how tired I was. I asked God to give me the desire to give it all up. I needed a miracle! Your Life Verse

With each of our children we prayed over what we would name them. Nate gave me very specific guidelines for the names of our children- biblical, Hebrew, Old Testament. Yikes! It seemed like such a huge task, but, I believe that God led us to the perfect name for each child. I have asked that the Lord would give me life verses to pray for my kids that go along with each of their names. Isaiah- Jehovah has saved Isaiah 6:6-8- Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”  Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. As the rain  and the snow      come down from heaven, and do not return to it      without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,      so that it yields seed  for the sower  and bread for the eater, 11  so is my word  that goes out from my mouth:       It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire      and achieve the purpose  for which I sent it.  Isaiah 55:10-11 Last week with our kids was brutal.  I babysat various numbers of kids everyday, had missionaries in from out of town, took the kids to Bible school, had play dates at the park, and had 4 different nights where we had dinner with families from our church.
